Twaweza is hosting an event to release findings of research on why stock outs persist in Tanzania and what can be done to prevent them.
The session will present the findings of a political economy analysis of why stock outs persist in Tanzania, and will be held on Tuesday 20 May from 0745-1000 at the National Museum (opposite IFM).
Key findings about reasons for stock outs are: low prioritization of stock outs, resources alone do not tackle stock outs, data reliability and use are problematic, oversight and lines of accountability are poor, and the public are aware of stock outs and do take action but the results are unclear. The brief also presents four ideas for moving forward.
The event will feature a presentation of the findings by researcher Dr Emmanuel Malangalila and a panel discussion with voices from civil society and government.
