On May 17, Sauti za Wananchi launched a brief report on citizens' views on information and public debate. Usually, we invite various TV, radio and print reporters to join us in the official launches of these reports for the findings to reach a wider audience. The launch of For free or fees? Tanzanians’ experiences and preferences on schooling, attracted wide media coverage throughout the country.

On the day of the launch, news regarding the research brief was aired via news bulletins on Azam TV 2. Radio stations that covered the brief were Times FM and EA FM.

For most print and broadcast media, the main focus was on the citizens' desire to pay fees to get quality education for their children. The Guardian and Tanzania Daimamade this a front-page story.

Tanzania Daima covered the fact that despite the efforts made by the government to implement fee-free education, parents with children in schools are ready to pay fees to get quality education. It also covered the fact that parents agree that training programs for teachers are more important than having free school uniforms for their children.
