At Twaweza, we believe in the power of citizens to shape their own destinies. Our work across East Africa focuses on strengthening citizen agency and promoting government accountability. To make that vision a reality, we rely on strong systems for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), systems that not only track progress but help turn data into real-world change.

We are now looking for a Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning to join our regional team. This is a leadership role for someone who is not just skilled in research and data analysis but also passionate about making evidence matter.

The role at a glance
As the Manager, MEL, you will:

  • Lead regional M&E systems and learning strategies

  • Oversee research, evaluations, and impact assessments

  • Translate data into engaging briefs and presentations that inform action

  • Collaborate closely with country teams and external partners

  • Act as a thought partner in shaping how citizens and governments interact

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a strategic thinker, a skilled analyst, and a strong communicator. You will need:

  1. A Master’s degree in social sciences or a related field

  2. At least 7 years’ experience in M&E and impact reporting

  3. Strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative analysis

  4. Excellent writing and presentation skills

  5. A deep belief in citizen agency and accountability

If you are ready to put evidence to work for lasting change, we would love to hear from you.
