From Measured Optimism to Galvanized Action: Arineitwe Bartholomew’s Journey as a Change Agent

Arineitwe Bartholomew describes his journey as a change agent as weaving together learning, empowerment, and a commitment to community growth.

From the beginning of his role, 41-year-old Arineitwe says his questions about progress and learning were met with measured optimism. Amid the charm of a beautiful setting in his village, he found comfort not just in the environment, but also in the bonds forged with fellow Change Agents and trainers who have been guiding him without fail.

Working hand in hand with the village chairperson, he has been rallying fellow community members to attend village meetings more regularly and consistently. Yet, it was the successful joint endeavour of restoring a road that truly galvanized villagers to work more closely.

Determined to break the chains of low income and limited resources, Arineitwe is working with fellow villagers to establish savings groups, which have been a safety net of shared resources that bolster their economic dreams.

“I feel proud to see how fellow community members could borrow from our very own village source, while actively saving for future investments,” he says

Arineitwe’s vision for his village is clear; an elevated community with improved income and limitless access to education.
